• could, np. Could you speak more slowly? I couldn’t help him with the exercise.

• should, np. You shouldn’t smoke. Where should I get off?

6. Zdania w stronie biernej w czasach: Present Simple, Present Perfect, Past Simple, Future

7. Pytania pośrednie, np. He wants to know if I like him. Can you tell me where the bank is?

8. Zdania w mowie zależnej z czasownikami say, tell, ask, np. He told me (that) he was very

unhappy.

9. Zdania współrzędnie złożone, np. While my brother was playing football, I was watching

cartoons.

10. Zdania podrzędnie złożone:

• przydawkowe, np. The man who lives next door is a famous actor.

• okolicznikowe

– celu, np. I came here to give you this letter.

– czasu, np. The phone rang when we were leaving the flat.

– miejsca, np. He was sitting where I had left him.

– porównawcze, np. She is as tall as her father.

– przyczyny, np. She is happy because she won the lottery.

– skutku, np. I was tired so I went straight to bed.

– warunku (typu 0, I, II), np. When it is hot, we drink more. If we win the match, we

will have a party. If I had a lot of money, I would buy a big house.

11. Konstrukcje bezokolicznikowe i gerundialne, np. I’m very happy to see you. I enjoy walk-

ing but my friends prefer cycling. I’m good at swimming. He called me before going to

school.
